Barbara J. Mosbacher, Ph.D., has been in private practice for more than 30 years, working with clients to help them solve problems and deal with life in a more deeply satisfying and effective way. She has completed psychoanalytic training – the most intensive training available for a therapist. She helps clients connect to what is true about themselves gaining insight and empowerment.

Having completed her formal training in psychotherapy, Dr. Mosbacher held staff positions at Baylor College of Medicine, Kelsey Seybold Clinic, Houston Methodist Hospital, West Oaks Hospital, and Belle Park Hospital before starting her own private practice. Since that time, she has served in a leadership capacity or board member for mental health organizations such as The Harris School, Houston Psychoanalytic Society, and the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies.
Dr. Mosbacher is an accomplished lecturer and has been sought over the years to address current topics related to psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She serves on the faculty at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies, where she teaches classes on psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, supervises and mentors trainees and works on the admissions committee. She also serves on the clinical faculty for Baylor College of Medicine where she trains and supervises psychiatry residents.

Her personal interests include health and wellness, vegetarian cooking, fitness, literature and fiction, contemporary film, wildlife preservation, habitat conservation and environmental causes. She also loves wilderness hiking and spotting wildlife. She lives with her husband of 30 years and their two fat cats, having recently launched the younger of their two children.
